Words hold meaning. Words wear a cloak. Worst of all they've gone rogue. Masquerade as feeling. Words they’ve lost control. And when you've given up all hope. Feed the sheep what you've been sold. Better off dead Better off red Party in red Part of the dead Living in my head Come on I'm better off dead Visions of the dead Running through my head Part of the dead Living in my head Come-on Are you better off red? Are you better off dead? There's no time for reason. And when there's no reason You're good as dead They've lost all hope. Dangling from the rope As the light begins to fade to gray Better off dead Better off red Party in red Part of the dead Living in my head Come on I'm better off dead Visions of the dead Running through my head Part of the dead Living in my head Come-on Are you better off red? There's no time for meaning. And where there's no meaning Then I guess you’re better off dead Fighting through the waters Looking for answers In a giant sea of no return

"No More Silence" - An Immersive Masterpiece:

A Tale of Struggle and Resilience:

Poison the Vicar's journey over a tumultuous three-year period is marked by frustration and captivity, a time when choice was a scarce luxury. This album weaves together a story that hints at secrets hidden in plain sight, inviting you to explore a deliberate web of deniability within the storyboards' artwork. "No More Silence" is an invitation to embark on a voyage of discovery that transcends the boundaries of mere music, offering listeners a chance to experience a unique blend of sound and emotion.

Dive into an unconventional, captivating narrative that unfolds far beyond the realm of sound. "No More Silence" isn't just an album; it's an immersive experience. This album's tale is meticulously etched within a 73-page storyboard, visually encapsulating the profound essence of each song. The story draws from a tumultuous three-year period marked by frustration and captivity when choice was an elusive luxury Poison the Vicar could scarcely grasp. Each song weaves a piece of this intricate puzzle, an encrypted testament to their relentless journey. In the interest of safety, not every detail can be laid bare, weaving a deliberate web of deniability within the storyboards' artwork. Secrets lie hidden in plain sight, inviting listeners to embark on a voyage of discovery that transcends the boundaries of mere music.

The album's opening resonates with the horrors of the Khmer Rouge, as generators rumble alongside the heart-wrenching cries of children, contrasted by the innocence of a traditional Khmer Pinpeat orchestra. Poison the Vicar ventured to the killing fields outside Phenom Pen to capture this chilling soundscape.

The following track, "This is the Answer," catapults the listener into a dystopian future where the only escape from the modern world's horrors is downloading one's consciousness into a machine. The song's haunting hook, "This is the answer, binary suicide. The ones and zeroes have already decided our fates," leaves a haunting truth that even with an escape, true freedom remains elusive. With references to environmental destruction and poignant samples from Doe, the leader of the ill-fated Heaven's Gate cult, and Divine hinting at humanity's impending demise, "This is the Answer" leaves you craving "just a little more."

As the inaugural single from "No More Silence," "The Wolf" ensnares listeners with its relentless bassline and a captivating opening line that sets the stage for the song: "Fight the hunger! Feed the beast!" Poison the Vicar masterfully employs a full array of vocal styles, immersing you in the world he has painstakingly crafted. Next up is "Graveyard Dance," originally featured on the Darkness Calling charity competition, "Back from the Dead Vol. 1," a Night of the Living Dead-themed album. It marries crooning melodies with Nick Cave-inspired bass notes and ferocious metal vocals. This song guides you through a Faustian journey, a tale of deceit and resurrection.

Surprisingly, "Party of the Dead," despite its name, lightens the album's tone while deceptively trapping the audience in a false sense of security. "Party of the Dead": About "Party of the Dead" delves into the unsettling era where truth dwindles and deceit thrives. It unfolds a paradoxical world where trust is essential, yet often betrayed by those entrusted with protection. This intricate narrative delves into the profound hope for a better world, persistently eluding realization. The song's mechanical and jarring soundscapes intertwine with soothing choral vocals, intensifying the struggle to maintain optimism in a harsh reality. Drawing inspiration from Depeche Mode's "Construction Time Again," Poison the Vicar charts a fresh, uniquely profound path with a message all its own. About

"By Now" surges with a juggernaut of an EBM bassline. The song's commands to submit, obey, and doubt humanity intensify with each verse, interspersed with samples of John Wayne Gacy urging you to give in or give up. The song's bridges offer brief respites from the unrelenting intensity.

An interlude, cinematic in its delivery, unveils the raw truth of a prisoner's experience in solitude, paving the way for the funky acid house bass of "Plastic Walls." Poison the Vicar shares his personal experience of isolation enforced by the Chinese Zero Covid Policy, which endured over three years. "They see you. They hear you cry. They say they'll keep you safe. It's all a lie," he sings, echoing the pain of a broken man yearning for respite from the constant threat of being shipped off to a Covid concentration camp. In this intricate soundscape, Poison the Vicar immerses you in a world where each song is a brushstroke in a larger, enigmatic masterpiece.
